I was greatly honoured to be asked to follow in Barry’s footsteps, but as far as I am concerned, the Commander is only the figurehead of the Conclave – the most important people are the members.
I sincerely hope that you will all feel able to give me your full support, and in turn, I undertake to do my utmost to organise events to reflect the aims of our Order. I do not feel that one event a year is sufficient for us to generate sufficient conviviality, but neither do I want to intrude too much on your busy lives. Therefore, if we can arrange just two local events each year, supported by all, then that would be fantastic. I hope to announce further details at the visit of the Grand Master (further news on this shortly), and hope that you will all be able to come along and support me.
